Go up to the chicken (1) and click on it. It will turn into Quur, a sort of hobgoblin cyclops. I had Luci cast Protection twice, then Razor Sun; Herasia cast Poison Rain twice, then used Grokrl's Amulet (nice damage here); Almydion just used Grokrl's Amulet. When Quur "increased power" (only spell he cast), all defended. Either Almydion or Luci may have to take a turn off to cast Wave/G-Wave or Phoenix Shine. I won't use Air Cone for these battles as other spells do much more damage and Luci can go back to Zanbard in between the "boss" encounters to heal, i.e., replenish HP & MP.
After the battle, pick up the Red Diamond, which is one of the pearls you need to pick up. Go down and open the hidden chest (2) to get the Ulm' Ker Scroll. Enter the next cave (3).
Open the chest (4) to get Red Parsley. Click on the left side of the statue (5) to get Macaya's Winter.
Exit this and the previous cave, go all the way out and heal and save with Zanbard. Then re-enter to the first cave area. To Page 6
